ROTAX KART ENGINES
125 MAX DD2 EVO
Ages 15+
DD2 Masters division for drivers 32+
The MAX DD2 is for drivers 15 and up with some racing experience, as well as committed leisure karters ready for more. It is the only engine in the Rotax MAX lineup with a gearbox: two speeds, changed with paddles on the steering wheel, paired with a chainless direct drive, so there is no chain to adjust or replace. DD2 is its own engine rather than an upgrade of the Senior MAX, and the DD2 Masters division is open to drivers 32 and up. It races at every level, from leisure and club racing to national and international competition.
At 34 horsepower, the CIK-FIA approved MAX DD2 has the highest output in the MAX lineup, with an electronically controlled exhaust valve on the cylinder. BRP-Rotax launched it in 2002, and it has been part of the MAX platform ever since. Like the rest of the MAX family, it is built for long engine life and straightforward maintenance.

Why Rotax?
Everyone who gets into karting eventually asks the same two questions: what is this really going to cost, and will I be able to keep up? The Rotax MAX platform was built around those questions.
It starts with one engine. Micro, Mini, Junior, and Senior MAX share the same core, so as a driver grows from a first race to senior competition, the engine grows with them through upgrades rather than replacements. Keep it maintained and it stays competitive, which puts the difference where it belongs: with the driver.
The same thinking runs through the rest of the engine. It runs on pump gas, not specialty race fuel, and needs only a 2% oil mix. It arrives as a complete package with the cooling system and electronics included, and it's backed by a 6-month factory warranty. It's built to go a long time between rebuilds, which means more weekends at the track and fewer in the shop.
Every engine is sealed and built to the same technical rules around the world, so the playing field stays level. A driver learning at a local club track is racing the same engine, under the same rules, as drivers from around the world at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. The road from a first club race to international competition is already paved.
More time racing, less spent keeping up, and a clear path ahead for any driver willing to put in the work. That's the idea behind Rotax.
