Rotax SIM Challenge – Qualify for 2020 RMCGF

We are pleased to inform you that we have developed a special race for our worldwide Rotax family during this COVID-19 situation. Our drivers and fans will have the opportunity to race against each other in a simulation race via the platform iRacing.com.

The first Rotax SIM RACING Challenge goes online from April 27th to May 3rd, 2020.

This challenge is structured like a real race event with qualifying, pre-finals and finals, will be moderated through professional moderators from RaceSpot.tv and can be followed via live-streaming. The prize for the first place of this first Rotax SIM RACING Challenge, is a ticket to the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2020 in Bahrain, having the chance to take part in the Project E20 eKart race.

We have chosen the platform iRacing.com as it is one of the best simulation race platforms on the market. For the event we have chosen the Okayama International circuit as it is included in the basic membership.

But here some information, how it works:

  1.  Entry fee is EUR 15.00

  2. Afterwards the driver receives a confirmation email from our system with the promo code for the platform com. The promo code includes a 3 months

    • PC System: https://www.iracing.com/membership/system-requirementssubscription of the game as well as the car “Skip Barber Formula 2000” which is needed for our event. When subscribing at iRacing.com, there is an option where the driver should mention our email address rotax@fmsports.net. This will help to finance the training servers for our event on iRacing.com.If someone already has a subscription at iRacing.com he/she only has to buy the car “Skip Barber Formula 2000” in the Open Wheel section.We have a special Rotax branded car for the event which is based on this Skip Barber Formula 2000.

      To take part, the participants have to check the requirements and buy the equipment:

    • Steering Wheel and Pedals (it is not possible with mouse or joypad) Thrustmaster TMX Force Feedback

    • Logitech G29 Thrustmaster T300RS

  3.  At the main event, we will have pre-finals A and B and the best 36 drivers will take part in the finals. During the pre-finals the drivers have about 10 minutes qualifying sessions and about 20 minutes race.

    1. The event starts on April 27th with 3 days of qualifying. The servers will be open about 5 hours a day, and the best 72 drivers will qualify for the main event.

    2. At the main event, we will have pre-finals A and B and the best 36 drivers will take part in the finals. During the pre-finals the drivers have about 10 minutes qualifying sessions and about 20 minutes race.
